Proven Ability to Make the Complex Clear

Look at my portfolio and you'll see how I've helped business-to-business (B2B) companies explain their multifaceted offerings in a way that will be understood and absorbed. And I've done it across a variety of mediums.

Given my focus on clients with complex product & service offerings, a variety of B2B companies have hired (and do hire) me. Within that realm, I have additional experience working with B2B companies who sell to sales & marketing departments and to human resources (HR) departments.

Sales & marketing offerings I've helped sell fall into the categories of: lead generation services; sales & marketing automation technology; market research services; research services for sales teams; email marketing services and technology.

HR offerings I've helped sell fall into the categories of: benefits administration; absence management; tax-advantaged benefits; recruiting management; compensation administration and analytical support; learning & training; business intelligence for HR.


Big-Picture Approach

My title may say "writer"... but my job is more than giving you words. My job is to give you clean, concise copy that, with 100% clarity, shows your skeptical reader you understand his or her needs. And so compels him or her to take the next step.

Translation: I'm a marketing writer who — most importantly — is a marketing thinker.



A little more about me: I've been an independent marketing writer since 2001. Before that, I worked for a public relations and marketing agency called Niehaus Ryan Wong (NRW) and, prior to that, a small strategy consulting firm called Helmer & Associates.

I graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, where I mixed a liberal arts curriculum with coursework in business & accounting.

(For those who perceive accounting as dull, let me tell you: Those "debits and credits" have made me a better sales & marketing professional!)
